The Construction of the Pate Seawall in Lamu County is a climate resilience and coastal protection project aimed at safeguarding Pate Island’s shoreline communities from the adverse effects of sea level rise, tidal flooding, and erosion. The seawall will serve as a strong barrier against encroaching ocean waters, protecting residential areas, cultural sites, and community infrastructure that are increasingly at risk.
